The Okanogan Valley Farmers Market began over twenty years ago with a few local people gathering informally to share the bounty from their farms and gardens. Today, the market contains a vibrant mix of fruits, vegetables, baked goods, beauty products and crafts from local artisans.
The Market is governed by a Board of Directors, whose primary goal is to establish policies and procedures to insure that the organization complies with all appropriate local, state and federal laws and to create a lasting, sustainable market. The Board consists of farmers, vendors, crafters and community members to offer diverse and impartial management. Members are chosen by nomination and consensus of the Board, with subsequent approval by a vote of registered vendors at the general meeting. All Board members volunteer their time to the market.
